It came with an optional power adapter- of which I am not currently using. I have 3 DVRs and 2 regular receivers for Direct TV. All DVRs work fine- as they should. One of my receivers is having some problems- but this may be due to the cable and not the switch. This product is a good deal- in the sense you can't get it from Direct TV, or any local electronics store as Direct TV would have you believe. Works as indicated. I would recommend this product.
