There is minor pain during application due to the sensitivity of the soar but with in 20 seconds all pain stops. They last for hours. If you are still trying numbing ointments, give up on those and try this, because Canker Covers is much better! It works!
Canker Coverstar rating 3EricFebruary 10, 2008Product kept my sore from hurting, once it expanded from my saliva, but became a real mess when trying to remove it the next day. It's also bulky, 1/4 of an inch thick when expanded and became obtrusive. Other products cover the same without the bulk or mess. Eg. Zilactin.

It has a wonderful numbing effect- and allows you to eat/drink without pain. the only negative is that the cover can be visible to others if the sore is in a noticeable location. i did not care. i just wanted relief- and i got it.

Canker Coverstar rating 5XinhuaJuly 26, 2006This product design is great, it covers the early stage canker and avoids irritating the area, thus the canker heals fast. The limitations are: it’s expensive; it only can be applied to some areas in mouth, but difficult to apply to areas such as around the tongue. Suggestion: if a simple tool can be designed for placing the canker cover inside the mouth instead of using your hand which is difficult in the small areas.
