Extra Heavy Duty High Security Sunnect Electronic Deadbolt Lockstar rating 1TerryDecember 31, 2011I purchased this Sunnect AP501 lock and I do recommend it to others and it probably is bullet resistant, the problem I have is the wiring inside. Very cheaply made. The outside of the unit is great, the inside mis cheap. The one wire for the sensor is very fragile and easily breakable. The main wiring is wrapped in plastic and became frayed very easily. Now, I have a lock that does not work and cannot find this part anywhere. Called Sunnect, Inc. of Lorton , VA and get voice mail and they never call back. So overall, this unit sucks.

Also, quite heavy with a solid feel and sleek look. Reasonably easy to install, although during the installation of the first one (I actually bought and installed 2) the inside portion of the lock fell down while I was connecting the wires and both wires to the door sensor broke. I was able to solder them back, no problem, but it would be helpful if there was some sort of retainer to hold both units in place whilst installing. Also, if you plan to install on a door that has the large glass insert, you may have a problem as the lock is quite wide. I had to cut away part of the rubber seal in order to make it fit between the edge of the door and the edge of the window insert. The other problem I noticed is that if there is any drag whatsoever on the bolt, then it will not lock or unlock all the way. It seems as if the motor isn't that strong, and this is probably my only complaint with the lock and hence the reason I don't give it 5 stars. I love the fact that it doesn't take a regular key that can be bumped and the spare keys are reasonably priced. Programming the lock and the keys is a breeze. Be aware that they come programmed for a left hand door and if you install it on a right hand door and try to operate it before changing it to left hand, it will sound the alarm when the door is opened. Not a big deal, but then you have to quickly figure out how to silence the alarm. All in a all, a great lock, easy to use, solidly built, and quite an eye catcher.

It's just as handsome in person as it was on the web page - maybe even more. Next: installation was even easier than was described since it fits in a standard sized hole. Next: It was easy to program. The instructions were even in good English!
