How to Use an Airbrush, Second Editionstar rating 1tcbApril 6, 2011I have to agree with the other reviews. This is not what I was expecting. It does not cover the subject thoroughly enough.
How to Use an Airbrush, Second Editionstar rating 1DavidJuly 27, 2010This book is only okay. For example it refers to wash but does not tell you how to make a wash. It's helpful only if you're a real novice
How to Use an Airbrush, Second Editionstar rating 2scott combsDecember 18, 2009This is a very pretty though sparse overview of airbrushing. It should appeal to those interested in a light treatment or brief introduction of the subject. My problem appears to be that I expected a book not a magazine. The booklet uses jargon and terminology not familiar to the reader not only in the areas of applying paint, but surface preparation (sanding, filling, priming, etc.) and in painting, such as “orange peel and fisheyes-.” In addition, this offering has section titles such as “The basic setup,” “The dual-action airbrush,” that should have been chapters, instead of a two or three paragraphs. It is unfortunate that the author saw fit to introduce important bits then refer the reader to old issues of Fine Scale Modeler magazine for the information. Unless it was your intention to publish an exacting instructions only on using an airbrush, yet that could not be the case because the author broadened the scope of treatise to cover the painting of scale models. All in all this is a very attractive beautifully photographed magazine that is light in depth and detail.
