Naming the Child: Hope Filled Reflections on Miscarriage, Stillbirth and Infant Death

Naming the Child: Hope Filled Reflections on Miscarriage, Stillbirth and Infant Deathstar rating 5Celia RyanFebruary 5, 2010I just had to write to say how delighted I am to have ordered Naming the Child by Jenny Schroedel. I am a grief therapist and I read a lot of grief books but I can honestly say this is the VERY BEST I have read in a long time. The book is exquisitely sensitive and gentle in tone, the stories are candid and compelling, the writing is professional and compassionate without any false notes... it is well documented and based on good information and never preachy or sentimental. I have already posted my review on several of my professional boards. Thank you for publishing this.

Naming the Child: Hope Filled Reflections on Miscarriage, Stillbirth and Infant Deathstar rating 5Elissa BjeletichMay 8, 2009As a mother who has lost a young son, I was particularly happy to find this book. I bought a few extra copies, so that I can easily give it out to anyone in the same circumstance. It is so helpful to read about other people's losses, to find that we're not alone in our grief, and to see how others have made it through this long and difficult journey back to life. I know that it is so hard for those around us to find words when a child is lost. This book offers insight from parents who've been there, into which words are healing and which simply magnify the pain. It's a great resource to keep on a church's bookshelf, and on your own shelf. I am grateful to its author for offering such a useful and beautiful book.
