I liked the old power switch so I could turn off the modem when not in use, not fully trusting my firewall. I use the switch as an on-off device between my modem and my router. Works great and is actually faster to connect to the internet than the old power switch since the power is always on. Wheras I ordered the switch to be sent UPS ground from Florida to Washington State, it actually came prioty mail in a couple of days.
