Realistic Model Railroad Designstar rating 1SverkMay 24, 2011This is a good and useful book -- well it could be, but the printing is a disaster. The pictures are mostly way too dark, make me ask, "Would someone turn on the light, please!" Very disappointing because that which can be seen in them is enough to indicate that the actual pictures are very rich in information and beauty. But large parts of that is now inaccesible, hidden in the dark, very frustrating! Same problem with three other Kalmbach books I've bought recently. But not with older books, like Andy Sperandeo's on Freight Yards or the MR special issue on Realistic Reliable Track (great books indeed, thanks a lot for them!). So, no, it is not my eyesight or reading lighting that has deteriorated.
