The Model Railroader's Guide to Logging Railroadsstar rating 3Glen PrichardApril 30, 2011A decent basic resource, but a lot of issues with photo captions. Has a Climax labelled a Heisler and vice versa. Also a McGiffert loader is labelled as a Barnhart. One has to wonder how much of the other info is suspect.
The Model Railroader's Guide to Logging Railroadsstar rating 5David HoareFebruary 17, 2011Have several books on logging but this is the best alrounder I have seen.If you knew absolutely nothing about North American forest activities this is a good place to start. For a logging railroad fan it is in a class of its own. Well done Kalmbach.
The Model Railroader's Guide to Logging Railroadsstar rating 5Leon van der LindeMay 14, 2010Received it in the post today. Browsed through it quickly. Brilliant. Just what I needed. Quite a lot of the info I needed. This will be a great help and reference in the coming years. We now need companion publications on "Logging Structures for Logging Railroads", "Logging Camp Structures for Scratchbuilders", "Scratchbuilding Rollingstock for Logging Railroads". Anybody up for the task.
