First, somehow get over my laziness towards keeping the garage man door locked up (I hate going out to check to see if it is locked at night). Second to install a security system on my old garage, as well as my new garage, and of course the house. As far as my laziness goes, I went to menards to get a lock for my new garage , as I was looking I thought "why don't I try to find a lock that locks itself every night"...??? Well after some searching I found one from The Keyless Lock Store. I installed it tonight and have it all programmed. The one I bought is item number 3010. Which allows schedule programming. There are many others that don't have schedule programming, but have autolock mode, which locks after every time someone unlocks it. I have it set up, so each person in my family has their own code. Also, the feature I was mainly looking for, at 9pm it automatically locks itself!!! At 9pm it also changes to a mode where every time you unlock it, it re-locks in five seconds. This mode stays in effect until 9 am, when it changes so when you unlock it, it stays unlocked. Sooo if I unlock it during the day it stays unlocked till 9pm then automatically locks itself. The cost was steep for a residential lock, but I think it's worth it, knowing It automatically locks itself. They are $209 plus shipping, but again maybe it would have saved my $500 saw, not to mention letting me sleep a bit easier at night.
